Baby Girl

Photographing newborn girls is a wonderful opportunity to capture the purity and beauty of new life. By creating a comfortable environment, focusing on details, incorporating gentle props, and embracing spontaneity, you can produce images that will be treasured by families for years to come. Celebrate the uniqueness of each newborn girl through my lens, preserving these fleeting moments in a way that is both artistic and deeply meaningful. Boys! I think it would be pretty neat to grow up as one of 3 brothers. The bond and the memories would be amazing. That's what I think of when I look at these 3. I'm excited that they will have this picture to look back on as a memory of when brother #3 was born.
Personalizing newborn sessions is something that I take pretty seriously. So, I took it to heart to make this session, with three brothers, cute and still keep the boy factor. I loved the burlap bow ties and suspenders that I found on etsy. Not knowing at the time if it would be a boy or girl, I bought burlap items for a boy or girl that would compliment the older boys outfits. I love, love, love how it all came together. I really appreciate the trust that their mom put in me to create a wonderful portrait.

Maternity Progression Photography

Maternity Progression Portraits are so much fun! They allow a woman to really see the beauty that her body is later on. Especially since we, as women, cant always see it at the time when we are as big as a house with a watermelon hanging off the front of us. (those were my own personal feeling during my pregnancy. I left out the part where I felt like I needed a Rascal to haul my big butt around by the 9th month. I never went there, but I wanted to.)
This beautiful Yakima Mom has been with me since I first started shooting newborns. I'm so grateful that she stayed by my side during all the learning curves I feel like I went through along the way. I'm sure there will be more learning curves as I go, but she was one of my first 5 newborn clients!
As we were planning these sessions, we finalized the look that she and her husband wanted. Each time we would meet, I would also have a crazy prop or idea. She was gracious and humble enough to play along. Below you will see both finished progressions. Both showing the stages and seasons she went through, just in different ways. Enjoy!

This was a really fun session for me. Ive enjoyed capturing a few of this families photos over the past few years, and am loving being part of that journey. These sweet newborn photos were my first using constant lighting in the studio and I'm really happy with how they turned out. I never stop learning and growing in my field and with each step, my heart skips a beat with excitement.

Breath of Fresh Air

Going through these photos was like taking a walk in the mountains for me. They were very refreshing and left me with a feeling of possibility. Loved the colors, the outfits and the sweet little model. Cant wait to watch this little family grow and next spring get some family portraits. Reason number 6,591 why I love my job.
